UltraExplorer Portabe is a useful file manager utility which duplicates many of the functions of Windows Explorer while offering a bunch of useful customization options like the ability to switch around toolbars, change color schemes and also run DOS applications from the Windows command prompt.
Since UltraExplorer Portable does not require installation, it can be run from portable USB devices like external hard drives, USB memory sticks, memory cards and network locations.
UltraExplorer includes many of the features you would expect from a program of this nature but totally reworks the layout and visual functionality of the original Windows Explorer. It includes tabbed navigation along with the ability to customize colors and run executable files in the command line.
New tabs can be activated with the CTRL T hotkey similar to almost all modern web browsers.
The dual panel layout of UltraExplorer is handy and provides functionality like cut, copy, paste, edit, map network drive and the ability to create context menu items.
All in all, UltraExplorer Portable is certainly a usable and good alternative to Windows Explorer and despite the fact it was designed years ago, it still works on modern Windows versions like Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
UltraExplorer Portable is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from file managers without restrictions. UltraExplorer Portable 126.96.36.199 is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this file management software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from Mustangpeak.
